From time to time, the condition of a tree can deteriorate to such a degree that it has passed the point of being saved and presents such a hazard that felling it is the only option available.
Providing that there is sufficient space, we can professionally fell a tree – this method as it is much quicker than performing a full dismantle – and we are skilled at controlling the direction of the tree’s fall using the various winching techniques we employ.
John Whitworth Tree Surgery can offer you the piece of mind by undertaking thorough tree inspections to ascertain the health and condition of your trees and propose any actions required.
What is the purpose of a Tree Preservation Order (TPO)?
A Local Planning Authority (LPA) may place a TPO on a tree if the tree is considered to have a sufficient level of amenity value. A few of the factors considered during the assessment of the tree may be the prominence and size of the tree, its structural and physiological condition, its potential longevity, whether it has any ecological or historical value, etc. and whether its existence is likely to be under any level of threat.
The purpose of the TPO is to protect trees which either make a significant visual impact on their local surroundings or have particularly considered values. It is an offence to cut down, top, lop, uproot, wilfully damage or wilfully destroy a tree subject to a TPO without prior consent from the Local Planning Authority.d top right.
